– this is a document defining the environmental impact of the product throughout its entire life cycle.
The calculations carried out for the purposes of this study include the LCA analysis stages related to the production of raw materials (A1), their transport to the plant (A2), and the manufacturing process (A3), the so‑called “Cradle-to-Gate,” in accordance with the EN 15804 standard guidelines. The EPD does not include the product life cycle stages A4, A5, C1–C4, and D as defined in EN 15804. The Type III Environmental Product Declaration for CEM I – CEM V cements produced in Poland provides information on the cement production process in individual product stages according to EN 15804, referenced to the product mass unit (1 tonne). This information can be used to prepare an assessment for a specific application of cement in relation to its full life cycle in a building (e.g., concrete).
